Kia XCeed Crossover Shows Us Its New Digital Instrument Cluster
Kia released another teaser image of the upcoming XCeed crossover hatchback, this time revealing its new digital instrument cluster.
The new XCeed will be the company’s first model to feature a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster when it’s launched in Europe later this year.
Featuring a high-resolution 1920×720-pixel display, the new Supervision digital cluster offers more information, including turn-by-turn navigation instructions, audio and phone information, as well as all the usual trip computer data and pop-up notifications from the vehicle’s active safety systems.
Kia will offer the newfeature as an option in the new XCeed, and in other models in the near future.
“Our new Supervision digital instrument cluster is one of a number of optional new technologies that will be available with the Kia XCeed,” said Emilio Herrera, Chief Operating Officer at Kia Motors Europe. “Boasting a wide range of features, particularly on higher-specification models, this cluster will play an important role in displaying critical information to the driver in a clear, unobtrusive way.”
The XCeed will be positioned alongside the regular Ceed, Ceed Sportswagon and Proceed, filling the gap between the small Stonic and the compact Sportage in Kia’s SUV range.
The Korean car maker has already released one image showing the profile of the new XCeed but more images of the exterior have surfaced online recently, revealing the sporty shape of the new crossover hatchback.
Chances are that the crossover looks will not come with all-wheel drive; instead, expect to see new driving modes added to the existing Normal, Eco and Sport ones that will tune the suspension and electronics for some mild off-road use.
