Kia Carnival: Kia to launch Carnival MPV at Auto Expo 2020, Auto News, ET Auto
The car was first displayed at the 2018 Auto Expo along with other models from the brand. As the report reveals, India-spec Kia Carnival MPV will be slightly updated compared to the one showcased here last year, as the automaker has tweaked the model for the Indian customers.
Sold as Kia Sedona in several markets, the Kia Carnival could prove to be a competitor against Toyota Innova Crysta in India. This would be available in seven-seater and eight-seater variants.
The MPV measures 5.115 mm in length, 1,985 mm in width, 1,740 mm in height and it also has a wheelbase of 3,060 mm. This means the car is longer and wider compared to the Toyota Innova Crysta.
Kia Carnival gets extendable leg-rests and armrests, multiple 10.1-inch screens for infotainment purposes. It will come with a large touchscreen infotainment system at the dashboard, UVO Connect in-car connectivity suite. Also, there would be triple-zone climate control, power-adjustable driver seat with memory function.
Speaking about the powertrain, the India-spec Kia Carnival would be available with a 2.2-litre BS-Vi compliant four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, which can churn out 204 PS of peak power and 441 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic unit, claims the report.
Bookings for the Kia Carnival in India is expected to begin in mid-January 2020, claims the media report.
